The audience will help solve the mystery at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School’s presentation of “Murder at the Museum,” a dinner theater show, on Saturday.

“I said ‘hey, if you want, I have a murder mystery script that hasn’t been done in Jackson, ever,'” Stevens said.

Stevens wrote “Murder at the Museum” and has used it for fundraisers outside of Jackson. His character in the show is the one who gets murdered.

Everyone wants to be the murdererWhat’s unique about this particular production is that no one knows who the murderer is until the night of the show.

After Stevens’ character dies, he will watch the show and choose the actor who engages with the audience and performs the best as the murderer.

“I’ve been to a couple of these,

and been in a few, and quite frankly this is the best one I’ve ever a part of,” local actor and dancer Rob Beebe said. “That’s exciting.”

The cast is ready to bring their A game because everyone wants to be the murderer, Beebe added.

Another special thing about this production is that cast members will be sitting at tables with the audience. When there are breaks in the show, the audience will still be connected to the storyline with the cast member talking at their table.

Audience members will get to vote on who the murderer is and the winners will get a prize.

“It’s a very intriguing script, and it’s for a great cause,” Stevens said.

Going to BroadwayThe 19 cast member production is made up of Sacred Heart students and teachers and local actors from the Jackson Theatre Guild.

During spring break about 12 students will be going to New York City to see some Broadway shows and participate in acting workshops with real Broadway actors.

“We hope that this is the first trip of many,” Director of Theater and Music at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School Carrie Prewitt said.

Sacred Heart sophomore Anne Lovell was attracted to acting around 9 years old, after watching her sister participate in community theater shows.

To be able to act in “Murder at the Mystery” and work with Broadway actors is beyond exciting for her.

“I hope to get a better understanding of how to become one with the characters that I play,
